There are many skin exfoliating agents that may be used to remove skin blemishes. There are a wide variety of exfoliation products to choose from, but the most common product being employed by consumer are TCA peels. This exfoliating agent is found for sale online and offered by spas, dermatologists, and cosmetic surgeons. It is relatively inexpensive to perform at home. The main plus for this product is the fact that it does not result in serious or catastrophic side effects.

It is also relatively easy to learn how to use the TCA peels solution. There are basic instructions to follow, such as keeping away from direct rays of the sun while healing, or being keen to use an antibacterial ointment when the exfoliation process gets underway. All of these safeguards and guidelines have been developed to limit the side effects of the exfoliating agent. The result from the use of chemical peel is amazing, and the high success rate of its use has been acknowledged.

An important point to note concerning trichloroacetic acid solutions are the fact that they are found in different concentrations. It may be prepared with a concentration as high as 50%. One is not advised to use highly concentrated solutions of TCA unless directly prescribed by a qualified medical practitioner. The highly concentrated solution is used on the hard outer surfaces of the skin, such as the palm of the hand or the sole of the feet. The strong concentration may also be employed in removing or lightening tattoos and dark patches. The lightening effect of chemical peels on a tattoo will primarily depend on the depth of the tattoo, and the intensity of the marker used in creating the tattoo.

The TCA peel solution is generally administered based on the degree or the depth of skin peel required i.e. deeper skin peels require highly concentrated chemical peels solutions, while the not so deep skin peels also require a relatively concentrated or lowly concentrated solution. Just to mention, the peel solutions are often found in medium concentrations of about 25% TCA and light concentration of almost or above 10% TCA solution.
