How to use TCA Peels for Tattoo Removal

If you are regretting ever getting a certain tattoo and you want to remove it or more easily cover it up with a new one TCA Peels can be a great choice compared to expensive laser treatments. Trichloroacetic acid or simply TCA is increasingly becoming the choice in fading or removing tattoos for average men and women. The cost of having a tattoo removed using laser treatments is very high compared to a that of a TCA peel.

TCA is a chemical peel, and from the name itself, the acid can aid in controlled exfoliation. Apart from being relatively easy to apply on the tattooed area, TCA gently peels the upper skin layer off thus breaking the ink particles of the tattoo. With each peel, a lighter tattoo will be revealed. You will have to subject the tattooed area to at least six rounds of peeling and healing before the tattoo can be completely removed. Just like laser therapy requires several visits.

To use this method, of course, you must first purchase a TCA peel. You may do on physical or online stores. Since TCA is generally safe to use, there is no need for prescriptions. Our TCA Tattoo Removal peel is sold at 100% strength but the advisable concentration to use is 12 to 25%. Definitely, the former will be too strong and with a strong burning sensation and longer healing time. So make sure you dilute it to a strength you’re comfortable with. You will experience a burning sensation even if you use TCA with lesser concentration. This is normal and a sign that the TCA peel is slowly working its way deep into your skin.

Before applying TCA Tattoo Removal you should first wash the tattooed area you will be applying it to. You should wash it using clean and warm water and hypoallergenic soap and then apply the solution using a cotton swab or a Q-tip for a more effective application. Wait 5 to 10 minutes. afterwards, use a damp cloth in drying the area. If burning persists, you may splash the area with cold water. You need not worry that the solution might be washed away because the solution is already absorbed by the skin at this time. Again, pat dry the area with a damp cloth.

The skin affected will become tight and dry and peel after a week or two. You have to wait until the area had completely peeled off or until peeling subsides and the area is healed before you reapply the TCA solution. The ideal period between applications is four to six weeks. Continue with the process until your tattoo had been completely removed. Make sure to avoid sunlight on the freshly peeled skin and use sunblock on it even after it’s healed for awhile.

To make your tattoo removal chemical peels even more effective try our TCA and Glycolic peel pretreatments on your skin for 4-6 weeks before applying the peel solution. This will clean your skin and make it much more receptive to the peel solution.
